I just got done filing a police report, but Im wondering if theres anything I can do to track the system if he signed into my account from another location Thanks.

When I was in college I worked as an RA on the first floor of the freshman hall.

Though I ha a separate door I was always worried I might one day leave it open and be robbed.

That never happened, but what did happen was that over Thanksgiving break someone broke into my room via the window and snagged my PS3, TV, and some other valuables.

After filing a police report I decided to call Sony to see what they could do.

I grabbed my Mac address from my router and gave it to them so that they could flag my machine as stolen.

Once they flag it as stolen and you give them the info from the police report, they should give you a case number.

Contact the officer in charge of your case and provide them with the same info you gave Sony.

Have the officer contact Sony with your case number and tell him to tell Sony to contact himher the moment someone logs online with your PS4 The next time your PS4 logs online Sony will be able to trace the location via IP address.

They will log it, then send the info to the officer who will then have to go and request a warrant.

Once the office obtains the warrant they should have full clearance to go in and retrieve the PS4 and any other stolen goods.

Once the PS4 is retrieved youll have to wait a week or two for it to clear as evidence and finally you will be reunited with your system.

Rejoice I went through this whole process and it took a while because the guy didnt log online for about 2 months.

When he finally did he had wiped my PS3, but it was already flagged as stolen because of the Mac address.

Thus Sony logged his IP, sent that info to my campus PD, who then got the warrant and retrieved my stuff.

I hate thieves and I hate hearing about a fellow gamer being robed.

Edit: I wanted to add that you should change your password via the Sony website as well so they dont have access to your shit.

For everyone else out there Id register my PS4 with Sony too.

They can also track it via the serial code that is required to register as device.

This also helped me prove I was the owner and got my device back.
